Description
The Aphotisan towers stand at the heights of a cliff that covers the valley through the swamps of Aphotisan. Possibly the most dangerous path to take is the rivers into the swamp, which makes the valley and cliff location of Aphotisan a safe haven for its residents. Before the Aphotisan castle lies the mountains of Al'Atan in which is treacherous terrain forces the valley the only path in which safe travel can be taken. This makes the towers of Aphotisan the eyes and ears of Al'Atan and all surrounding villages that survive off of the lush quagmire.

I am an amateur artist and am actively practicing and discovering techniques in improving my work. I do hope to find assistance wherever I can and appreciate those who take their time to critique and give positive advice. This Piece was done in photoshop with texture references for the rocks, mountains and treelines.
Comments and Critiques are welcome.

The water could use a bit more work and the grassy plains are a bit fuzzy.
Some areas are quite black .
To improve, look at other peoples work, and maybe buy some concept art DVDs from Gnomon. Maybe Mattepaining tutorials if you like landscape work.
But this looks pretty good already so keep going
